This week we have visited a heart clinic to take measurements to design the interior for Go Red and the American Heart Association. We have still been working on redesigning our clients home. We have a power point due next week for our lighting class. I am coming to a better understanding about styles, measurements in existing spaces and learning about codes for commercial buildings.

I was really busy the last part of the spring semester and was unable to keep up with my blog. I finished my color scales, created presentation boards, made and presented a couple power points and had a two week break. Now summer classes have begun. We have met with a client and begun learning about the home make-over process. We are designing a floor plan for RedDress and visited the Proximity Hotel for sustainable ideas. We have a field trip almost each week during the summer. We will be very busy, but I will try to remember to keep up with my blog better.

Started working on yellow and violet scale today. We have taken the 3 primary colors and made a scale with their complementary color and show how the colors coordinate together with tint, shade and tone. We have gotten into the early 1900's in art history. I'm pretty happy because I love Matisse and Dali. We are also learning how to put furnishings in our Sketch up drawings.Tomorrow I have to bring in 5 contemporary or modern architectural pieces for our cupcake shop. I have a few ideas. I guess I'll see how that goes.

Today I finished the blue and orange color scale and began working on yellow and violet color scale. We have started learning how to draw perspective.We started working with Google Sketch Up today to work on elevations in Auto Cad.Yesterday we took a field trip to Maxie B's in Greensboro. We were able to tour the facility and get ideas for the cupcake shop we are designing. We had a few treats while we were there as well. I am excited to get started on my design for the shop now that I have a better idea of a bakery's needs.

Today I worked on a blue and orange color scale. I finished the furnishings for my office plan in AutoCad. Now I am working on printing. I think once I get the printing process down, I just hope it will stick with me. I feel like every time I get ready to print I run into one issue or another. I'm excited about tomorrow. We are meeting at Maxie B's in Greensboro to take a look around the shop. We have to design a complete cupcake shop for a man and hopefully this will help with ideas. I'll probably have a cupcake or two!

I've been pretty busy lately. I've had to create a red to green color scale and am working on a blue to orange color scale. I had to write a paper on the psychology of marketing in design. I need to create a cupcake shop for a man out of Charlotte, NC. We are working on floor plans in auto-cad. We have also been assigned different sections of the Asheboro Art Guild for redecoration. I am planning on taking pictures of everything I've done first semester and thus far for second semester and posting them. 

We have finished a lot of color rendering lately. We are also creating presentation boards to display our models and the furnishings. We have to give presentations tomorrow. I just hope everything runs smoothly tomorrow. I really like make the presentation board. I feel like I'm becoming professional.

We have finished our elevations and have glued our elevations onto our models. We have finished our color wheels and matching the colors. We have been learning to color render wood and complete rooms. I feel like things are starting to come together with being a true designer.

I have been assigned to create elevations for two of the walls of the storage container project. I have to do them in pen and color render them. I also am working on color rendering a fabric design. I am still working on my color wheel. Violet has been the hardest so far to create. I guess that's why it's meant for royalty. We have been taking a small break in Auto-Cad and only working on our blogs. Art history has been slow. Our teacher has been sick and we have just been going over the 14th and 15th century style of painting and how perspective has come back into focus for that time period.

Right now I am working on a color wheel for my principals and elements of design class. I am working on learning new ways to use markers and color pencils in my presentation of design class. I am working on a model for my project with a storage container being turned into a pool house in my principals of design class. I am also starting to learn to use Auto-Cad in my cad class.
